I'm going through each set of the latest update (4-23-2012) and altering the VGMs whose names do not include track number in the filename.

For instance:

Code: Select all
Sonic the Hedgehog - Title Theme.vgm

would now be

Code: Select all
Sonic the Hedgehog - 01 - Title Theme.vgm

Is this something that needs to be done? I have already changed about a dozen packs so far.

Awesome. I think this is the protocol for all recent VGM files. but it would be way too much work to do every single VGM set here! Esp. for one person.

I went back and re-logged the VGM for "Good Job, Headdy" from Dynamite Headdy. The Orchestra Hit at the end of it was off-pitch, but re-logging it in Gens GS worked fine. Re-logging also fixes the PCM pitch issues in several tracks from Ayrton Senna's Super Monaco GP II. I might get on that sometime unless someone else wants to.

Proper Streets of Rage 1 loop lengths from the Yuzo CD release I have on my computer. Some of the VGM versions may need re-logging due to being too short compared to the real McCoy lengths from the man himself.

In order of the CD release so you can swap around the playlist order properly as well. Most of them seem to have the 10 second fade out with 2 of them seconds being blank white noise.

The Streets of Rage: 2:02
Player Select 0:52
Fighting in the Street 5:00
Attack the Barbarian 3:31
Round Clear 0:11
Dilapidated Town 3:36
Moon Beech 5:09
Keep the Groovin 3:37
Beatnik on the Ship 4:26
Stealthy Steps 3:11
Violent Breathing 2:02
The Last Soul 3:36
Big Boss 1:48
My Little Baby Good End 2:04
You Became the Bad Guy 3:38
Up and Up 2:26 (Hex Hack Only or Beta Only)
The Super Threc 1:47 (Hex Hack Only or Beta Only)
Name Entry 3:01
Game Over 0:06

Streets of Rage 2:

Go Straight! 3:03
In the Bar 1:30
Never Return Alive 3:48
Spin on the Bridge 4:33
Ready Funk 1:47
Dreamer 2:16
Alien Power 3:18
Under Logic 2:01
Too Deep 3:43
Slow Moon 2:33
Wave 131 3:18
Jungle Base 3:48 (Motohiro Kawashima is the secondary artist)
Back to the Industry 1:18
Expander 2:38 (Motohiro Kawashima solo)
SOR Super Mix 5:46
Max Man 2:12 (Motohiro Kawashima solo)
Revenge of Mr X 2:03
Good End 3:55
Walking Bottom 2:09 (Beta only or Hex Hack theme)
Little Money Avenue 3:10 (Motohiro Kawashima solo) (Beta only or Hex Hack theme)

Streets of Rage 3: I will only note Motohiro or Doubles again as Yuzo is obvious.

Fuze 2:48 (Motohiro Kawashima solo)
Spinning Machine 1:04
Boss 2:47 (Motohiro Kawashima solo)
Beat Ambience 6:19
Cycle i 3:16 (Motohiro Kawashima solo)
Kamadecoco 1:04
The Poets i 3:25 (Motohiro Kawashima solo)
Shinobi Reverse 3:40
Percussion 2:51 (Motohiro Kawashima solo)
Moon 4:12 (Motohiro Kawashima solo)
Happy Paradise 3:15
The Poets ii 5:14 (Motohiro Kawashima solo)
Random Cross 2:47
Dub Slash 3:42 (Motohiro Kawashima solo)
Inga Rasen 7:56
Bulldozer 2:35 (Motohiro Kawashima solo)
Crazy Train 4:29
Cycle ii 3:13 (Motohiro Kawashima solo)
Good End 4:07
Nightclub 0:53
Zeed Cargo 0:37 (Last Motohiro Kawashima solo)
Bad End 0:48
Robot X 0:52
Bad End ii 5:26
Guang Xi 1:07 (Beta or Hex Hack Only)
Round Clear 0:11
Game Over 0:06

Hope this helps perfecting out VGM sets of the 3 Streets of Rage games. It took me a long time to type these lengths and artists up.

As one may notice listening to the OutRun 20th Anniversary set, there are a number of secret tracks from OutRunners that weren't included in the set. Two are based on Virtua Racing (and sound quite similar to their equivalents in the Genesis version). As it turns out, by inputting the Virtua Formula unlock code, one can access these songs from the soundtest.

Since it's pushing 3AM here at the time of posting, I haven't done anything other than log the VGM from Fusion and let you all know these songs exist and weren't included. I'm hoping someone else would be willing to go to the trouble of looping and tagging (the two VR tracks are by Mitsuyoshi, Jingle Bells is credited to Takayuki Nakamura, and the other two are by Tatsuya Kouzaki; see also http://vgmdb.net/album/5474 at disc 7).

https://www.box.com/s/herrieuve2pb0e1a08qh is the set.

EDIT: Went ahead and got the looping working OK, so they should be all right.

Here is the Sonic CD set with some tag updates.

I renamed and retagged the tracks to match the titles in the D.A. Garden (JP region) and the 20th Anniversary OST. I also added individual track author credits.

Ultimate Set Information Updating Thread

Currently updating all sets with updated filename track information, including the two recent updates for Dynamite Headdy and Sonic CD.

75 sets remaining. Takes me about 30 minutes to do 10 sets, averaging 3 minutes per set. I will be updating this post each time I get a random number of sets done. Then I have to check each m3u and make sure they are correct and work as expected, then re-pack each set into vgm7z archives.

10/19/2012 [9:30 PM]: 69 sets remaining

10/20/2012 [12:02 AM]: 65 sets remaining

@Monkeymook

When you are done, I will finish updating those sets with the large amount of composer info that needs to be updated. Hopefully Valleybell can make me a mod, or I can send them to him to upload to the site's servers.
