VGM player for Windows Mobile?

Postby ronfar623 » Wed May 28, 2008 11:37 am

Does anyone know of a VGM player for Windows Mobile? I would love to not have to convert game music to MP3 just to listen to it on my handheld. I've searched, but can't even find plug-ins for established players. Thanks in advance!

I've been wanting the same thing for portable audio players... but thats a no go I'd think unless someone really had a specific music player they'd want to commit formatting the music to.
Ah the good old days... :D

Can you name popular players for Pocket PC/Windows Mobile which is free, has plug-ins system and open SDK (which can be downloaded without registration)? I thought to make some other format player for PPC some time ago, but didn't find any suitable player. Making my own player is too much work, so I dropped that idea.

The only open source player for Windows Mobile that I know of is TCPMP.

OK, it is suitable, but.. I spent two days to understand how to make plug-in for this player, and got no success. It has very complex plug-in system (compared to WinAmp, at least), I didn't find any documentation, and source code of other plug-ins didn't help too.

I also can't understand status of this project - official site redirects to CorePlayer site, where I found no information about TCPMP.

Sorry, but no.

Maybe someone can port in_vgm after I finished and released v0.40.
I cleaned my code a lot, so it should be quite easy to port it to some other player with a plug-in system.
