Streets of Rage timing error

Postby TheUltimateKoopa » Wed May 16, 2012 3:29 pm

The "Attack the Barbarian" has an incorrect loop.

The current version here, has the loop set for
1:37.4 (15.3s intro and 1:22.1 loop)

The correct length should be something round:
2:07.5 (1:00.0 intro and 1:07.5 loop)

While we're at it the name of stage 2 should be "dilapidated town" instead of "dilapadated"

"Dilapidated" is the correct spelling. it says dilapadated on the vgm set, last I checked.

Thats 3:31 with a 3:21 10 second fade out at the end actually if you want the true length of Attack The Barbarian from the remastered soundtrack for doing the real non artificially remastered VGM version with.

Really? Are you sure? 3:21?

I thought the actual loop was from about 1 minute, to 2 minutes and 7 seconds.

I.e.: from 0:00 - 1:00 is not looped, then 1:00 - 2:07 is looped, and thus, the next loop would be 2:07 - 3:14.

How is 2:07 - 3:14 different than 1:00 - 2:07?

And what remastered soundtrack?

What he meant by remastered, was a higher quality sound than the original release of the OST. It's still FM.
Speaking of which, there is gonna be another SOR music collection released in a few weeks.

Wait.... just because the length of the track is 3:31, (3:21 + 10) doesn't necessarily mean that's the length of one loop.
I was referring to a single loop, unless there's some secret hidden melody that's only on that one.

Yea it might be. The OST versions have extra parts to some of the songs.

Do you know of a YouTube video of it?

Specifically from the "Yuzo Koshiro BEST Collection Vol. 2" version, and not the "Bare Knuckle Original Soundtrack"?

Speaking of which.... this might be a stupid question, but.... do you think they'll just have the Genesis versions of the SOR soundtracks on the upcoming Bare Knuckle Original Soundtrack, or do you think they'll use the versions that were on the original soundtrack... but with the YM2612 soundchip? If it's the latter, that'd be pretty nice...

But the 'digitally remastered for the first time' sounds awesome... I wonder if it'll be better than Vertiphon (on FFShrine)'s version.

As for the Attack the Barbarian, by your logic:
Fighting in the Street goes for almost 5 minutes for one loop, whereas the in-game version loops at around 2:20 or something.

Of the extra parts in songs? I can't find them on youtube anymore, but I know the intro tune and round 8 had unique parts.

Both. And the new Bare Knuckle Original Soundtrack (collection, I might add), is going to use the YM2612 versions instead of the PC-88. I wonder if they will still include the 3 unused tunes for BK1, since they are using the MD chip now.
