Chya, that's why I opted to take a walk down the street to the local (awesome, they have everything) game store. Luckily they had an HD. I think it works.... going home to test.
I really want to do this to mine. I also have two inherently crappy Model 2's laying around at home, so modding at least one of those would be really fun.
Here's the rub: I don't know how to solder, don't have the tools and supplies, and don't know much about electronics (resistors RESIST! YAY!...) Applying circuit diagrams is confusing, to say the least. But it would be extremely fun, educational, and immensely rewarding.

Finally I did the recording, using my audio modded MD2 and the super great VGM player.
Starts with Konami logo music, then Battle Mania 2 - Blue sky laundry, Devilish - Stage 7, Ristar - Ring Rink, Puggsy - If looks could kill. I think its the correct order....
