New VGM website

You might be aware that ValleyBell is awesome and that he added support for many additional chips to VGM files, and a new website to host them was needed since smspower hosts only Sega 8-bit music, and project2612 hosts only Genesis/32X/SCD music. So we created one (to be precise it's not a website but it's only a forum), and it is available here: http://vgm.mdscene.net/forum/index.php

Please note it's pretty much unfinished by now, namely there are no FAQs and no documents about VGM files (how to create/edit/replay them), not to mention the filenames are inconsistent and there are probably several other problems all over the place, which is why I wanted to keep it secret for another while. However, on ValleyBell's suggestion, I'm making it public now, it might be a good idea after all, so people can post their suggestions and their bug reports in case there's something wrong (of course, if you happen to find any problems related to security, you should report them directly to me using a private message, unless you're a terrorist who wants to hijack the website).
All the existing VGM packs are uploaded and divided by system (to not clutter up thing excessively, for now all the Arcade games are listed in the Arcade section; there will always be time to separate them into more specific systems).
I didn't add support for attachments because I don't believe in them; submissions of new VGM packs should be uploaded somewhere else and linked into a new thread in the Submissions subforum. If this turns out to be a problem for enough people I will look into installing attachments but I'd really prefer to avoid that.
Everyone is welcome to create an account and spread the word, we have the chance to become the third important website dedicated to VGM files (next to smspower and project2612).

A gigantic sincere THANK YOU goes to Oerg866, who's running this whole thing on his own server.

It's mostly down.. There are a lot of cheap website hosting services available.

Those three downtimes in a row were just an incredible amount of bad luck. The server has been working perfectly since then. And since it is in Europe it will keep on working even if SOPA will become reality.

The page has been down for a few days again. Anyone know when it's back?

Any chance of having a mirror site, just for when stuff like this happens?

I haven't talked to Oerg866 for a while, so I don't know.

tails_ mirrors all VGM packs on his site.

The website will be down at least until September 23rd.
Oerg is nowhere near Germany right now so he can't deal with this.

In the mean time, you can visit our IRC channel if you simply want to talk: irc://irc.digibase.ca/vgmrips
