Great, I know Prince of Persia 2 as the back of my hand.
I would go as far as saying that this beta is better than the shitty SFC port (that's not a feat in itself). The graphics are sometimes neat (the palace), sometimes bad (the catacombs) and the music is utter crap, but the controls are not as bad as on the SFC. Still, the jumps are not very precise and three buttons are way too many when the original DOS version plays perfect with just two.
An interesting find nevertheless, but nothing to write home about.
