Where can I find Capcom Qsound?

Anything else goes here that doesn't fit in the first two categories.

Where can I find Capcom Qsound?

Post by SmartOne »

The QSF format exists, but I can't find any files anywhere! I pretty much love any chiptune music, so it would be cool to listen to some arcade musics without having to play the games in MAME.

Also, can't VGM be used to log arcade music and such? Kinda confused.

They are really, really hard to find. There are quite a few on Neill Corlett's page, but not many. I think that there have been other soundtracks that have been ripped, but they are nearly impossible to find. Specifically what were you looking for?

guh... i dunno.

Anything good, I guess. Street Fighter obviously. Mega Man the Power Fighters?

I've looked at Neil's site and can't seem to find any.

They are there somewhere, but I can't seem to find them at the moment. (Now that I think about it, I don't think that there is a direct link from the site.)

The good news is, after a little web searching I found both Megaman arcade games here. There is also a link available in this thread that has Street Fighter 2 Alpha, but that is all that I can find at the moment.

Hey thanks a lot! Now I just have to figure out how to play them. Looks like Highly Experimental doesn't play QSFs...

Nope, but Highly Quixotic does. It's on Neill's page.

Yup. Got it and listening. Sweet.

Do you by chance know why PSFs sometimes sound different compared to on a real Playstation?

Emulation, bad TV speakers, lack of hardware sound filters provided by the Playstation, etc.

Aren't those sound filters emulated though? Don't worry, I know the difference between a speaker issue and something deeper.

I've got a few QSF sets. Dunno if any of these are floating around, but I likely grabbed them off of Neill Corlett's mirror, so it's likely you can get them from there too... but eh, just in case.

19XX
Cadillacs and Dinosaurs
Megaman 2: The Power Fighters
The Punisher
Street Fighter Alpha 2
Saturday Night Slam Masters

If anyone needs any of these, and just plain can't find them elsewhere, I got em.
